NAREDCO’s 13th National Convention to Chalk out Road Map for 6 Crore Homes
July 27, 2016, New Delhi: In a bid to provide fillip to the India’s real estate sector and evolve ways and means to help the government in achieving all its ambitious targets including Housing for All by 2022, 13th National Convention and Exhibition is being organised by National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO)-an apex body, formed under the aegis of Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation (HUPA), Government of India.
To be held on August 19-20, 2016 at Hotel Taj Palace, Diplomatic Enclave in New Delhi, the 2 days convention will see active cross-border exchange of knowledge, resources and personnel between.
Coinciding with the theme ‘India is future ready: Housing and Infrastructure- Key Catalyst’, the main objective of the Convention is to deliberate on the existing real estate scenario and prepare road map for various legislative, regulatory, administrative and financial reforms. The thrust of the Convention would be on promoting inclusive development of real estate sector, apart from discussing the various aspects associated with the Housing for All by 2022 scheme of the government.
Addressing the press conference organised to announce NAREDCO’s 13th National Conference, Mr. Rajeev Talwar, Chairman, NAREDCO, said, “As per few demographic trends, with more than one crore population getting added to urban areas every year, India’s urban population is expected to reach about 81 crore by 2050. Housing, a basic need for human being, would play an important role in accelerating urban growth in India. Within urban housing, it is the affordable housing which would be more in demand in future. The central government has already realised this issue and is targeting 6 crore houses – 2 crore in urban areas and 4 crore in rural areas by 2022, with a view to provide housing to all by 2022.
The Convention will provide an opportunity to all stake holders to deliberate on the challenges before the sector in achieving this target and evolve strategies to accelerate the pace of growth.”
Mr. Parveen Jain, President, NAREDCO, said, “In addition, at a time, when the confidence of stake holders, especially investors, has dented because of half-hearted and slow policy reforms and sluggish economy, the Convention would serve as the right platform to discuss the future strategies to give fillip to the sector through regulatory and financial reforms.”
Spread over two days, the sessions of the Convention shall focus on the themes including growth of real estate and infrastructure and its various dynamics, affordable housing and the way forward, legal and regulatory framework for the real estate sector, media’s role in development of the nation, relationship between banks and realty sector, evolution of private equity and NBFCs role in Indian real estate sector, innovation in the real estate sector among others. In addition, there will also be round table discussions with decision makers at the Convention.
The speakers list will include dynamic leaders from the Government, academia, real estate industry and financial institutions who have international exposure and experience.
Along with the Convention, ‘National Real Estate Scroll of Honor 2016’ to honour meritorious industry players and associates for their outstanding performance, contribution and innovation will also be organized.
In order to further aid in the growth of the real estate sector, an exhibition to display new properties, technologies, products and materials for the benefit of the participants will also be organized at the same venue.
